It just so happens
i’m tired of being white
because I’m black
and educated.
Because I dissed regulars
and advanced my placement
now i’m going places
and I found it racist,
when a black kid HIMSELF
told ME,
I must not know what MY race is,
or what it means to be black.
My Heart caved i
until I came to the realization
that THEIR black lacks Intelligence
for A fact.
I’m tired of people
speaking a THOUSAND WORDS
and not saying nothing at all,
As if their tongues
were trained to believe
They don’t have the ability
to speak no wrong,
As if their words
weren’t armed to do bodily harm
As if gang and gun violence
wasn’t enough to kill us off.
It just so happens
Im tired of tuition
being more than the money
that I have in my pocket.
Tired of hearing
“Oh College Makes You Different”
because you noticed a slight switch in my diction
so you bashed and charged me
with your self indictments
without proper arraignment.
I’m tired
of hearing
“You can be anything you wanna be”
because i’ve seen the “door of opportunity”
Carelessly
Slammed in the faces
of the majority of minorities.
Now You..Tell me
if THIS is still the land of the free.
I’m tired of hearing
“Stay in School”
“Follow the Rules”
I SAY
Learn that pi times the radius of a cube
will NEVER be used outside this classroom
They Fooled us,
Wooed us
with intentions to use us
Slid us to the side and abused us
Deceived us
like Judas did Jesus
and turned the other cheek.
YOU..TELL..ME
If this is still the land of the free.
Imagine me,
In the midst of a warzone
where words pierce through hearts
like bullets from Narks
Evidently
It’s elementary to them.
But if I ruled the world
everybody would dream
like Dr.King
Freely
Imagine that.
It just so happens
I’m sick of captivity,
and I walk into it everyday
in an attempt to self educate.
ALL pupils painted BLACK
can relate to THAT slave system,
Where educators are forced to educate
under that SAME System
That was founded
to keep us caged and Bound
But
NOT THIS ONE.
I’m trained to fight by Any Means Necessary.
And I wont STOP
til this land lives up to
“The Land Of The Free”
That Means
My ability to learn like the kids in the suburbs.
Learn not just because
I heard
it’s freedom at the end of the tunnel.
Learn
Because
It..Just..So..Happens,
that I deserve it
WE DESERVE IT.
